Common Questions
About Kids & Teens Counseling
What age groups does Ann work with?
Ann works with children and teenagers across a range of ages. During the free consultation, she'll discuss whether her approach is a good fit for your child's specific age and needs.
How do I know if my child needs counseling?
Signs that counseling may help include persistent anxiety or worry, withdrawal from friends or activities, changes in school performance, emotional outbursts, difficulty with transitions, or expressing feelings of sadness or hopelessness. If you're unsure, the free consultation is a great first step.
Will my child have to talk about things they don't want to?
Never. Ann creates a safe, low-pressure environment where young people can share at their own pace. Building trust comes first — the therapeutic work follows naturally from there.
Are parents involved in the sessions?
It depends on the child's age and situation. Ann may meet with parents separately, include them in portions of sessions, or provide guidance between sessions. She'll discuss the best approach during the consultation.
